PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Smokingpipes.com has just released Peterson’s Patent Pipes: The Historic 1906 Catalog. The price is $68.00 minus whatever your discount may be. It’s big–9 x 12 inches–188 pages–and heavy (2 lbs.)–and full color.
At the risk of being self-serving, I’ll tell you this is an extremely limited run of 125 copies, about half of which were sold at the show. If SPC’s stock sells out quickly (from my keyboard to God’s ear), I imagine they’ll reorder. In our little hobby, however, catalogs do not traditionally sell well, and if it doesn’t sell out for a year or two, chances are, this will be the total run. So if you want one, or think you might someday want one, consider making that purchase today. Many thanks for your forbearance–I think if you’re a Pete Geek you’ll love it. For all my PG friends overseas, I don’t think this will be carried by SPEu.

This is an incredible offering. A perfectly-created replica, but also with loads of Mark’s insights before the actual catalog, and more at the end as well. As great as Mark’s 1896 catalog is, I like this one even better – loads of pipes we’ve never seen and it provides insights into how the 1906 selection evolved.

Looking forward to receiving this, I wasn’t aware of Peterson pipe notes back when” The Peterson Pipe “was published, after many hours searching and bowls of Macbaren BLB from my 03 Rosslare later I had the chance with a hardcopy, with that said I had a alarm set on my phone 5 mins prior to drop toda,glad I could get a copy hope the other Pete geeks that are interested don’t delay.
